Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein have filed a class-action lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Justice and Google. The plaintiffs accuse government authorities of a “deliberate political choice” to rapidly release archived files without adequate privacy safeguards, which allegedly led to the de-anonymization of around 100 victims.
Although the government later removed personal data from official platforms, the information remains accessible through search algorithms and AI-generated content. The lawsuit claims that Google has ignored requests for removal despite having the technical capacity to act. Survivors report receiving threats of physical violence and accusations of being “complicit” with Epstein from third parties.
The plaintiffs are seeking compensation from the Department of Justice and demanding that the tech giant immediately remove sensitive data from search results. Neither party has issued an official comment so far.
