To mark the 30th anniversary of Fieldwork in Ukrainian Sex, the publishing house Komora Publishing will release a limited edition of the book in its original design. The cover will once again feature artwork by graphic artist Yurii Charyshnikov, which accompanied the first edition in 1996.
The novel has rightfully become a landmark. In the mid-1990s, its frankness shocked society to such an extent that a special “front” publishing house had to be created to enable its release. Since then, the book has been republished 17 times in Ukraine and translated into 24 languages worldwide.
Despite its provocative title, the novel explores female identity, the traumas of Ukrainian history, and complex relationships shaped by national self-awareness.
The exact number of copies in the limited edition has not yet been announced.
